# PlotDirector Word Companion
|

|
This project contains the Microsoft Word task pane add-in shell for PlotDirector.
|
|
|
|
The add-in is deliberately small:
|
|
|
|
- The manifest adds one ribbon button: **Open PlotDirector Companion**.
|
|
- The task pane opens the PlotDirector-hosted `/word-companion` route.
|
|
- The manifest requests `ReadWriteDocument` so the companion can read Word paragraphs and write hidden PlotDirector anchors back into the manuscript after import.
|
|
- The companion only writes hidden PlotDirector anchors needed to reconnect manuscript paragraphs to PlotDirector scenes.
|
|
|
|
## Development
|
|
|
|
The development manifest URL is configured in `config/development.json`.
|
|
|
|
